A few comments about the ND/OSU game. That was quite the victory for the Buckeyes. I take back my comments about Powlus winning all those Heisman's. I think Jackson and Germaine will share the next 3 Heisman trophies. Orlando Pace will be Time Magazine's Man of the Year if he's not named Pope before then. He will sign a lucrative deal with Pace picante sauce before the season is over. And I hear that AMC is bringing back the Pacer. Wasn't it modeled after him?
I was disappointed with the celebration after the game. I mean, is that really the best they could do? 5 cars and about 20 students arrested? I remember back in the 70's when Pitt was creaming teams by similar scores, they would have to block the bridges leading away from town so that the cops could round up all the students. I remember the Pitt/PSU game in '76 when the administrators cast the goal posts in 20 yds. of concrete. The students were bring blow torches to the game in order to cut them down. I hear that the fans are going to tear down the goal posts if Majors can get the team to score a TD.
So, when I heard that OSU had only turned over 5 cars and thrown some rocks I was highly disappointed. Woody used to do more damage himself after a big first down play. Haven't the OSU faithful remembered anything about General Hayes?? You overturned 6 cars after losing to Michigan last year!! The mark of a successful program is that the fan riots after a win are bigger than those after a defeat.
I expect better things from the Buckeyes. I also expect better football games.
