2005 Week 14
December 6, 2005
The regular season has finally come to an end and we're all getting fired up for the best time of year, the bowel season.
There were only a few games, so they were all televised. We got to watch a bunch of exciting conference championship games, along with some non-conference tilts.
Personally I enjoyed that SEC championship game, with UGA grabbing a hold of that Bayou Bengal and humping that kitty into submission.
Also intriguing was the Pac-10 title game, between Pac-10 North champion Southern California and Pac-10 South champion UCLA. I'm not sure why they played the game at the Coliseum, flights to Venice Italy are expensive.
I was also glad to watch that inaugural league championship game in Jacksonville. Big East West champion Virginia Tech was defeated by Big East East champion Florida State.
Among the non-conference games was a matchup of conference champions: Tulsa from the Missouri Valley knocked off Florida University-Central of the Panhandle Inter-State Sports conference (the Sam Houston Institute of Technology Fighting Shi-ites had lost out on the Panhandle I.S.S. tie-breaker to FU-C).
I did miss that Texas/Colorado blowout. I guess the Southwestern Conference is back to dominating the Big 8.
So, after that dizzying weekend of football, we get a couple weeks off. I'm thinking of heading in to the doc to get a chin tucked in, or maybe two.
But while recuperating I will be working on my annual Bowel Preview. You wouldn't believe some of the crap I've uncovered this year. See you soon.
