2021 Week 12
November 22, 2021
As usual there wasn't as much excitement as usual the Saturday before Thanksgiving. We had the annual disgrace known as the SEC cupcake weekend. Apparently the concept is catching on, so it wasn't just SEC teams beating up on weak foes. North Carolina, for instance, beat something called Wofford 34-14.
Tennessee had no trouble with the all-star team USA, winning 60-14. #1 ranked Georgia bombed Charleston Southern, 56-7. Kentucky ran up a big score on New Mexico State, 56-16. And, not to be outdone in the weak sisters 56 club, Ohio State blew out the Michigan State Fighting Chippewas, 56-7.
The Huckeyes got off to a roaring start, scoring 7 straight touchdowns. Coach Hayes stopped by and was quite upset with the Ohio State staff. "They had 501 yards nearing the end of the second quarter and they knelt down on the final play and lost a yard. General, come over here". General Patton stopped by and said "you NEVER voluntarily give up ground you've already gained".
Woody chimed in "right, George. Also when you are up 42-0 and score in the first half, you need to go for 2". General Patton asked "why would you go for 2?" Woody said "because you can't go for three hundred, at least not until you get 50 a few times".
Notre Dame had a similar easy blowout win. They clubbed Georgia Tech 55-0. I bet even Rudy could have scored on the Yellow Jackets.
UCLA had little trouble with USC, winning 62-33 to take the Cheerleader's Bowel trophy. Air Force had a thrilling triple overtime win over Nevada, 41-39. Meanwhile, another ranked western team had a pretty embarrassing performance, as Oregon, a BS playoff contender, got destroyed by the University of Texas at Houston, 35-7.
Elsewhere among ranked teams, Oklahoma bounced back and held off Iowa State 28-21 to stay in the Big Eight race. My Pitt Panthers continued their fine season with a 48-38 win over Virginia. And Wake Forest's cinderella season took a big hit as Clemson finally woke up and pounded the Satanic Deacons, 48-27.
We are heading into my two favorite events of the fall - Thanksgiving and Rivalry Weekend. it all kicks off with the Turkey Day Egg Bowel, which I promise you is not nearly as tasty as Egg Nog. It will culminate with classic rivalries like Ohio State vs. Michigan and numerous other Saturday trophy games like the Civil War in Oregon, Bed-Lamb for those bestiality fans in Oklahoma, the Michigan State vs Penn State Battle for the Hugh Grant Trophy, the Iron Bowel, and my favorite trophy, the Wisconsin/Minnesota contest for Paul Bunyan's Ass. Should be a great time!
