2023 Week 14

December 4, 2023

Well the conference championships are over so we are finally ready for bowel season. This season has been bizarre and it's been the longest three months of my afterlife.

We had some pretty boring games over the weekend. Liberty upheld the honor of the USA by defeating the foreigners from New Mexico State 49-35. It was a great win for Lynchburg's Fighting Cuckholds.

Michigan had a grinding 26-0 win over Iowa in the Big Ten title game. Iowa's offense had some great success as they avoided giving up a safety and Michigan punt game was pretty exciting.

The real Midwestern thriller was Miami's 23-14 win over Toledo in Detroit. It was a fine bounceback win for the Canes.

Out West the troubled kids of Boys' State had little trouble with UNLV while the Men of Troy blew out App State 49-23. It seems like Coach Riley has finally turned around the Trojan defense.

The SEC title game was one of the best games. Alabama jumped out to a solid lead against two-time defending BS champion Georgia then held on for dear life to defeat the #1 ranked Bulldogs 27-24.

There were a couple fine out of conference games. Texas upheld the honor of the Southwest Conference with a big win over Oklahoma State. And Florida State won a defensive struggle against the St Louisville Cardinals, 16-6. Due to injuries FSU had to use their 3rd string quarterback and that apparently caused some BS problems as Nick Satan's Crimson Tide took FSU's spot in the BS playoffs.

I'd usually say don't bet against Satan, but the last time I said that I got sent to purgatory for a couple weeks. Which wasn't all bad as the parties there are better. No, I didn't see JoePa in purgatory either. Nobody wants to talk about it, so I don't have an update.

The best game of the weekend was the Friday night Pac-8 championship matchup as the Washington Huskies won for the second time over Oregon, holding on for a 34-31 victory.

Washington got off to a great start and I noted that if Penix could keep it up for four hours he should call his doctor. But he seemed to peter out around halftime - then later Penix got straightened out and exploded. I think one of the key factors was Oregon playing a light box which allowed Penix to go deep.

So we are now set for bowel seasons, all the matchups have been set, and I'll be back next week with my annual bowel preview. See you soon!
